Reputation, Legacy, and the Choices We Make as a Profession

In every profession, certain behaviours create short-term noise but long-term damage. Ours is no different.

Those who build their identity by undermining others, stirring division, or seeking influence through exclusion may get attention for a season, but it doesn’t last. Fifteen years in, I’ve seen it again and again.

The professionals who remain, and who thrive, are the ones who keep the focus on contribution, collaboration, and the advancement of all assistants. They don’t waste energy competing sideways; they build upwards.

We already have enough external battles to fight. Turning on each other only weakens our case.

Choose carefully. Behaviour defines reputation, and reputation defines legacy.
