Yesterday, we began our year-long journey toward revolutionising the administrative profession by reflecting on your strategic contributions and areas where you feel underutilised.

Today, let’s delve deeper into this self-assessment to uncover insights that will guide you throughout 2025.

Understanding your core values is essential for aligning your professional actions with what truly matters to you.

Today’s task is to define your core values.

Firstly, reflect on meaningful experiences. Think about times when you felt fulfilled or proud at work. How did that make you feel? Write down those words. What values were you honoring during these moments?

Then think about the other side. When did you not feel respected or honoured? What words spring to mind now? Write them down.

Look for patterns in your reflections. Are there specific principles that consistently emerge?

Finally, prioritize your values. From your list, select the top three values that resonate most with you – one list for the positives and one for the negatives.

Why am I asking you to do this?

Clarifying your core values helps you make decisions that align with your authentic self, leading to greater job satisfaction and effectiveness.

Often when we feel uncomfortable at work, it’s because we find ourselves in situations that go against our core values.

Understanding what’s most important to us will help us shape what we are working towards this year and what that looks like for you personally.
