This Is What Partnership Really Looks Like

Administrative Profession Partnership Strategic Business Partner October 23, 2025

This is what partnership really looks like.

Last week, at short notice, my Executive Assistant, Germaine Knight ACEA® represented me and Executive Support Media at EA Ignite in Nashville.

I couldn’t be there because my husband had to have heart surgery.
And while my focus was rightly on him, I needed to know that the business and our planned conversations in Nashville were in safe hands.

Germaine travelled 4550 miles from Spain to Nashville, ran our booth, connected with hundreds of assistants, built relationships, and represented us with warmth, confidence, and care.

And we didn’t miss a beat, because she understood what the mission was – why we were there and what we were wanting to achieve.

She didn’t just stand in for me. She stood with me.

Because she doesn’t just work for me. She works with me.

She understands my voice, my values, and my why.

That level of partnership does not happen by luck. It is built through trust, communication, mutual respect and hundreds of daily 1:1 meetings.

It comes from three years of curiosity, alignment, and shared purpose.

That kind of partnership doesn’t happen because it’s written in a job description.
It happens when you get curious about the business you’re part of.
When you take the time to understand the why, not just the what.
When you care enough to protect the mission as if it were your own.
And when you lead with confidence and heart, regardless of hierarchy.

To everyone who met Germaine last week, I hope your conversations were rich and informing.

You met the living proof that when assistants are trusted and empowered, they do not just hold the fort, they strengthen it.

And to Germaine, thank you. It changed everything last week, knowing you had it handled and I could step back and focus where I was needed most.
